ESA: If an asteroid is headed to Earth “We can not do anything about it”

In case a big asteroid is headed towards Earth, “we can not do anything about it”, says ESA astronaut while answering questions.

When an astronaut from the European Space Agency was asked if we have a plan to destroy asteroids if they are headed towards Earth he said that “We can not do anything about it”:

In the framework of the European Youth Event, someone from Greece asked the ESA astronaut:

Do we have a plan to destroy asteroids if they endangering our planet?”

The ESA astronaut answered that in case that an asteroid is headed towards Earth, “Today we do not a plan and we can not do anything about it”.

He said that it’s like being a caveman in your cave and you want to build a skyscraper, “there are so many steps you need to do”, he said.

It seems like humanity is not ready to face a huge asteroid threat like the one that killed all dinosaurs any time soon, as astronauts say that we don’t have a plan in that case.

People think that is very dangerous that we don’t have a solution or a plan in such a case as that was the way dinosaurs got completely extinct and who know, maybe the next one will be much bigger than that one.

So, in case a big asteroid is headed to Earth, we don’t have a plan.
